Aleah is a 24 year old wild-woman & wanderer currently working in Southern Maine (USA). She's also a cannabis enthusiast & advocate for plant medicine of all kinds. Aleah grew up learning about alternative, holistic healing modalities & herbalism and enjoys reconnecting with her wild-woman roots.
For as long as she can remember, Aleah has been an intuitive empath; she has been on her own journey of self reflection & discovery - gathering tools along the way that she hopes to share with others.
Aleah is passionate about creating a sacred space for healing. She enjoys diving deep within herself & with her clients to restore balance where it has been lost.
She has over 100 hours of Thai Bodywork training, she is reiki 1 & 2 attuned as well as offering cupping, aromatherapy, sound healing & experienced knowledge of CBD.
If you ignore your body when it's telling you that it is in pain or emotionally unstable, you only prolong your pain & suffering. It will never truly go away until you accept responsibility for healing. Your health & wellbeing are a worthwhile investment.
Aleah understands that life can be hectic & stressful. Your job & family can be physically demanding. Your responsibilities can be emotionally draining. You don't have to stop living your life, you just have to start listening to what your body needs! Dis-ease that develops within the physical body can throw the energetic body out of balance as well, creating a snowball effect for a person who does not have the tools or resources to bring themselves back into balance.
Aleah focuses on physical, tangible modalities for healing. She uses Thai Bodywork techniques to work the physical body, ancient suction-cupping methods to break up stagnation & improve circulation, she may bring aromatherapy into the practice or use healing sound vibrations to help clients drop into their bodies and the present moment. Aleah does incorporate Reiki energy work into her practice, but it is not her main focus. She believes that Reiki is an effective modality when used in tandem with the other services she offers.
Aleah also highly recommends the use of CBD products to enhance the effects of her practice before, during & after your sessions.
Thai bodywork is just one branch of the overall Thai Medical Theory which has been in practice for thousands of years in Thailand. Thai medical theory focuses on the 5 elements Earth, Water, Wind, Fire & Space. The philosophy is that all things on Earth are comprised of these 5 elements and when someone is experiencing dis-ease, it is due to the imbalance of their elemental constitution. Many believe that this theory comes from Ayurveda but the truth is that Ayurveda was born from the seeds of Thai Medical Theory making it's way from Thailand to India many moons ago.
A Thai bodywork practitioner focuses on working the 'Sen' lines of the body. Thai 'Sen' lines are different from Chinese 'Zen' in that they correspond with physical arteries, ligaments, tendons & muscles whereas 'Zen' lines correspond with energetic channels. Thai massage looks different than traditional massage. It usually happens on a mat on the floor, fully clothed & the practitioner usually doesn't use any oils. What truly classifies Thai Bodywork is the understanding of Thai Medical Theory; which is a revered science in Thailand and may take a practitioner 8-10 years of study to truly understand & apply.
The art of cupping has been used in almost every ancient culture around the world at some point. Many attribute cupping to Chinese medicine but the Chinese weren't the only folks to discover that creating a little suction in areas where someone is experiencing pain can help reduce inflammation, break up stagnation & improve circulation. Cupping is a great addition to any body- or energy work session as it assists in deepening the practice and yielding surprisingly quick results.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." The practitioner is attuned to this energy by a Reiki master and is then able to utilize visualization techniques & symbols to inspire healing within the energetic channels of the body. Energetic trauma & imbalance can often manifest itself as physical pain in the body. Our Physical & energetic bodies are one in the same and have an immense effect on one another. Reiki is a great modality to include in your session if you feel called to the practice.
